The last days I started with working on this new object. So far it has 3 legs and a head and sort of a tail….
And one step further:
Working with the 3D pen is addictive. You can create actual objects, and that is much different as to drawing. I don’t need samples, I just like to create objects, and it is always currious do discover what comes out. The techniques I know now make it easy to make any object. Also the in-between are fun to watch. I made a few photos of the new work I am doing in the early stages. You can see how the structures develope:
I am currently working on a new object with the 3D pen from MyRiwell. It is again a larger object, so these take some time. I am using two new colours now. Perl-white and gold. Gives a special effect with the object for sure. Will make some good photos’s later too when it is finished and will get a name. Probaly the objects will be exhibited somewhere soon……
This weekend I worked on another object with the MyRiwell 3D pen. The objects are becoming larger and are fit for a future exhibition. I have developed the technique now to make the larger objects and that works out just fine. Slowly a set of objects is created. The skelet is made of ABS plastics and the structures onto the body are like layers of paint that form a tight structure. That way the objects are light and yet very stable and you can hold them without breaking.
I have made a few more photos for you so you can see more sides of the object. The rears are large, and the figure is wearing a green cap. Have to think of the title yet, and will soon decide on wether the object is finished or not. Because these objects take a lot of time and materials I already ordered a few more kilo’s of ABS plastics. This time a different colourset, so that will bring some more surprises for future objects. Please feel free in commenting what you think of the results.
Made this new work with the 3D pen today. The whole piece took over 5 hours to make, but I am happy with the technique I developed to make 3D opjects with the pen. The object can stand on its own and looks different from every angle you look at it. Still have to sign it, and then figure out the title.
On the IUOMA network (see: http://iuoma-network.ning.com/group/journal)
Moan Lisa (USA) asked for handwritten contributions for a digital Journal. My contribution started wityh a simple page, but I knew I would alter it and would add some colour and structures. So the next fases went like thi”s:
All made with indian ink, watercolours on 120 g/m2 paper.
A FaceBook Discussion is a drawing i made in July 2010 when I was working in Athens. The theme has to do with several discussions on facebook where people sometimes crossed the lines and some friendships were broken. When not talking Face to Face but sitting behind a computer some people tend to overdo it with their words and emotions. When respect is lost, the friendships are lost too.
“The Eye Catcher” was the name of the object I made last week with a MiRywell 3D pen. I used several colours of ABS plastics to make it. Today I made “The Eyecatcher’s Friend”, another object made with the 3D pen, this time black, grey, white, brown, gold and Beige PLA plastics. The connection is there since the first object has the nodes to detect, and the other object is sending all these signals.
Will try to make a few better photos when there is sunlight.
