VIP (Visual Impuls Poetry)

SCAN1296

VIP (Visual Impuls Poetry) is what I call this.  On coloured paper I have made a structure of acrylic layers. When I start to write I act on the impuls of the letters that form the sentence that is in my mind. It normally costs only a few minutes to write the letters down, and then the indian ink needs to dry. I sign and date.

The letters get larger and smaller, also sometimes take another turn and go to another place. Therefor the sentence becomes difficult to read for the viewer, and sometimes also for me. But the impulse is captured in a visual way. Oh, and the sentences are in Dutch Language most of the time.

Made a batch of 20 works today, and scanned them all, in case I send them away into the network and want to remember what I made.

More Visual Poetry

SCAN1272

Finished some new sets of Visual Poetry that was made on coloured paper with acrylic paint and indian ink. I call it Impulse Poetry since the words come out as I write them down, but the letters are placed on the paper as if I am drawing. So a kind of randomness comes to it while creating it, but the original thought is captured in it as well.

New asemic works – July 2015

2015-07-05 10.59.30

Today I have been working on some more asemic works. This time on green paper with Indian ink and on top of that white permanent ink. So that brings soms structures and gives a permanent structure. I made several works also because I might be experimenting with new layers on ut as well

When I work with ink I always use permanent ink. I know that it creates structures as well, and I love touching the final result of a drawing when the paper and ink have joined into the structure

It is the first experiment with white ink however. As I see it now, it works quite well, and I might just get me some more bottles of that since I can then draw better on other colours, and also can write on the indian ink in black as well.

The photos were made while the white ink was still wet. I hope they are drey now, so I might continue with the next phases.

Outgoing mail-art 2003 – Painted Envelopes

2003_anna_boschi

In 2003 I was still living in Tilburg. I was painting envelopes on a daily basis, and sent thousands into the network. I made photo’s of all of them, lateron digitized them with a scanner. This blog is about a special series because the symbols can be interpreted in many ways, and these envelopes belong together although they are now all over the world. The one above To Anna Boschi (Italy) shows the setting quite well

The Background is a mixture of two colors that are integrated while wet. The envelopes were mostly sent to people I was doing the mail-interviews with. So a selected group received them. The one above to Clive Phillpot in UK, and the one below to Günther Ruch in Switserland.

The writings on the envelopes aren’t real letters. More acemic two symbol words. Painted with vermilioen Red and Oker Yellow. For postage alwats two or four postage stamps. Address stickers were prepared because I wrote to these contacts a lot these years. Like Below to John Held Jr. in the USA.

The envelopes were numbered too. You can see the red number in the corner below. In the year I made these (2003), there was no facebook and the Internet wast like it is now. So I never saw digital images of the received envelopes. Therefore it is funny to post them again in 2015, and will see what happened to the envelope series. The envelope below went to Bill Willson. The one abov to Julie Paquette. Both in the USA.

For Mark Greenfield (UK) I made a small exception in the series. I added a little green to it. That fits as a special one in the series. mark Greenfield never came to Facebook of the digital world. he remains the P.O. Box from which he writes. We are still in contact though now and then……

2003_Vittore

And a last sample, the enveloppe to Vittore Baroni in Italy. As you can see, also numbered, and signed with acrylic paint with my typical symbol JR and then the year the enveloppe is painted. The envelopes I make this year are with 2015, so you can easiliy date them……
