A FaceBook Discussion is a drawing i made in July 2010 when I was working in Athens. The theme has to do with several discussions on facebook where people sometimes crossed the lines and some friendships were broken. When not talking Face to Face but sitting behind a computer some people tend to overdo it with their words and emotions. When respect is lost, the friendships are lost too.
Letter that John Held Jr. found in his archives and published on Facebook. It shows a photo taken by Jenny de Groot (Hengelo, Netherlands) when I was wisiting her and we were writing some letters to mutual mail-art friends. I copied the photo and use d it as writing paper as you see above. Ove of the letters went to John Held on February 1993. Nice to see this back again. The stamp used below was a logo designed by Lon Spiegelman (USA) made in 1990, which I tranferred into a rubberstamp. Lovely memories and that statement is still true.
Robin C rozier did a project where he asked people from the network to share a memory of a specific day and return it to him. In return you would get the memory of someone else. I have tried to collect soms of the memories back, and have saved them in digital form (see above). Also I collect the originals, and have documented my collection on:
Some originals are in someone’s elses collection, and I only have a B&W xerox of it. The dates and memories are now scattered arround the globe. But it all fits together in a big large network that was active in the last decades when Robin Crozier was doing this project.
A new group that started on June 17th 2013. The old one will vanish, this one will live on. That happens also in the digital world.
On 21-2-12 I made these sheets and passed them out. Not a lot happened. I still had some lying here and pass them on now and then. Suddently on facebook they revived. Especially this version:
“E” from France started adding on one and published it on some Facebook groups. It was piched up by the Mail-Art network on Facebook, and started to be added and passed on to. It resulted in lots of versions which are now circulating and are being added too. I started to collect them now, and probably make a video from that to show the diversity of such a Facebook wave….
Being a pataphysician is quite an experience. Time to share it through a foam rubber stamp made with the letters.
And a first print of the new made rubber stamp goes out to Miss Noma in Liverpool – UK. A special envelope with some of my typical mail-art styles. Included lots of special things, that is not documented with photos.
The spiral was made some decades ago. The special square one too. the concept of IUOMA fits in this world of pataphysics. The connections are made.
For some time now I am exploring the world of Facebook.Have a working profile there, a public profile, a College profile, and lots of groups to reach people online.
One group has a special purpose. People sometimes are bored, and then look for a specific group to pay attention for. The Boring Group is successful. Just have a look at the link:
And when you want to see my public profile on Facebook, just go to:
And like me if you like. You will then get messages through facebook whenever there is news.
