A new set of Fluxus Words, created in September 2018. These are sent out into the network, so we will see where they end up and what meaning the words get. I did scan the set so I can show them to others too. All made with several layers of acrylic paint and signed with black pen.
Mail to Henry Denander – Sweden – October 2018
Mail to Ryosuke Cohen – Japan – October 2018
Letter written and sent to Ryosuke Cohen. He has been making this many Brain Cells that in return I always send him some handmade works so he knows I appreciate his work. This time a larger envelope went to him. Below you can see the cover on which the address was hand painted:
In a few week I will see what he did use or did not use. Just wanted him to get a nice surprise too. The content has also some handpainted fluxus words in it, so he can read them when he gets the piece
Outgoing mail-art May 13th 2017
Mail to Heleen de Vaan – Netherlands
Outgoing enveloppe to Heleen de Vaan in Amstelveen, Netherlands. The photo above shows how the backside looks. The stickers indicate the city the enveloppe is supposed to go to. On the other side only the zipcode is mentioned, so that should work. With Mail-Art you should involve a little play for the postal workers too. In the Netherlands they mostly seem to like it. It also ‘breaks’ the day with all those standard enveloppes they have to deal with.
This is the front side of the envelope. Heleen designed a first logo for IUOMA in 2018, when it will be 30 years old. I thought it would be funny to use the older postage stamps of the 25 years celebration (designed by Litsa Spathi) on the envelope for real postage. That makes it a collectors item for sure.
The logo itself is somehow related to the Fluxus logo’s. Also a good idea, since the whole IUOMA is actually the result of a succesfull Fluxus Word play that brought this word, that is now living its own life. Hope the envelope arrives safe. It is going out today in the last september days.
The Flux Words Box – 3D pen
