Queens Library Gallery : Transmit These are the invitation and the first pages of a catalogue of the exhibition TRANSMIT held in 1999 at the Queens Library Gallery in New York. The theme: Fluxus, Mail-Art, Networks.
The last decades I have been sending out lots of acrylic painted envelopes. The proces of making them goes in various stages. Each color is added as a batch to several envelopes where I constantly decide what there will be added to the envelope. Once ready each envelope gets a date stamp with my initials JR and the year of production. So the new envelopes all get a 2016 behind.. Read More
Four new Fluxus words were painted on envelopes. They are now sent out to some active mail/artists, so they will find the word quite soon. Since next month I will be doing a workshop with 3D pens for teachers, I am testing the possibilities first with standard objects. Going real D takes more time, but I will do that in the coming weeks for sure. Writing letters will be a first assignment for the students….. I will explain them a bit of my work inside the Mail-Art network as well……
Another envelope made for Miss Noma. This time I used the typewriter to write a letter. Also made the change into Mrs. Noma. Will be curious to see the reaction to such a type. In the year 2014 these envelopes went out. The proces is a complicated one. First the envelopes are painted with coloured dots. Each colour needs to dry before the next one comes. The address and postage stamps are added Some special rubberstamps are added The letters are added to the side, and because they are two sided the backside is also marked with these words
