Mail from Heleen de Vaan – Netherlands
Received in the vacation this lovely Tile from Heleen de Vaan in Netherlands. She made is through the services from PostNL, and wanted me to have it to hand in the TAM Archive or give it a special use. Especially after coming home from vacation the text fits perfectly:
So I will find a good place for the tile. Heleen always writes small notes with her mailings, so here you can read (in Dutch) what she wrote me:
Heleen has several blogs. so visit her main one and see what she has been sending and receiving over the years at: http://heleendevaan.blogspot.nl/

IUOMA logo by Thomas Kerr and Joel Cohen – USA
Drawing by Thomas Kerr and Joel Cohen, Stickers produced by the The Stickerdude (Joel Cohen), both from USA. As a support for the IUOMA the logo and artistampos design was made. Thousands of stickers were produced and distributed in several colours. There were even rubberstamps made out of this logo. Therefore one of the most know logo’s of the International Union of Mail-Artists.
Als the artistamps contains the basic principle of the IUOMA. If you apply to become a member, you automatically are a member. The union itself is a conceptual artwork that in real live is a growing collection of members who feel part of the IUOMA. All started in 1988, and in 2013 we celebrated the 25 years.
Postcard – incoming
Lynn Radford (USA) sent me this postcard. Here IUOMA rubberstamp at first was a mirror view, and the second one is a mirror-view stamp so the text prints readable. The mixture of the two is fascinating, so I enjoy seeing this play:
It is something which I enjoy in art. When you create something and you don’t get at first what you were looking for, you integrate it with the creating process to make it something completely different. This card is a beatiful sample of it. Love the result, so thank you Lynn!
Mail from Richard Canard – USA
Mail from Richard Canard (USA) today. I read the card while I was in the center of Breda after collecting it at the P.O. Box. The weather was fine, and so was the text that Richard wrote. So not the traditional documentation…….
I already placed the card on the blog at IUOMA at NING. There others might see it first and will react for sure. I also know that Richard frequents that place too:

Off course Richard goes to the bottom. Mail-Art always had to do with reaching for new borders and directions. So maiy involved in the network thought just seem to repeat thins ans stay in their confort zone. I know I haven’t , but also I haven’t told you readers all I did in the network yet. Time will come to tell that.
I made special group for Richard where now IUOMA members place their work from him. It is quite a collection, and because Richard always dates his mailings, we can put them in the right order too (if there is any). We can’t judge ourselves on the impact we have in the network. That is for others and new generations to decide.
