New IUOMA membership Cards 2016-2017

Soon the new cards will be ready and will be sent out. The order went out just now. This blogposting is the only posting about the cards I will be doing, so eventually we will see what the sending out of the cards will bring.

There is a long history about the membership cards for IUOMA. It started back in 1988 and not every year a card was produced. Also designs from others were used sometimes, and in a special group:

I even try others to make designs too, but not always succesfull. Anyhow….. A new card is in the making, and the cards are for 2016-2017 and will soon hit the network. Some will collect the cards for sure, and these will become historical time marks for the future of the IUOMA. Too much is going on digitally, but what will last is the hardcopies and lots of digital information scattered in the cloud.

By the way; it will be funny when someone reacts for the first time about the English and Dutch variation of the word Ship and Schip.

New drawings by Ruud Janssen – Feb 2016

SCAN1403 SCAN1422

And suddenly there is the time to make a series of new drawings that fit in the theme digital Humans and analog machines. Where the human race is building all these digital connections but forget that we are analog beings.

SCAN1423 SCAN1424

You can click on the individual drawings and see a larger sample of the drawing. They are all made on thick paper, size A4 (european standard). I use indian ink (from Talens) and russian watercolours (Petersburg), which mix very well together.

I also have a digital portfolio of my works where you can get a broader overview of my work:

As you can see I am very focussed on the digital connetions and what humans want to do. I feel I am in the middle. I work with the traditional tools in writing and drawing, and for a living I train students to implement the newest digital possibilities and make a living out of that.

Hope you enjoy the drawing.

Mail from Mike Dyar – USA

Last week an interesting parcel from Mike Dyar arrived with in it an object that deserves some attention.

The backside of the parcel receils some details already. A.M. Fine and Ray Johnson, and Mike himself looking for the next question. The mail-interview with Mike Dyar (see on this blog at:

Was never finished and published when I ended the project.

Above the front cover of the parcel. Typical style of Mike, and I am off course curious on what the content will be,
